Koko’s Kitchen is a restaurant born from a deep desire to keep African culture alive in the heart of Doha, we cook every dish from scratch using authentic recipes passed down through generations. No shortcuts. No compromises. Just real African food, made with soul.
My name is Lawrencia Udosen — but most people just call me Koko.
I grew up in Nigeria surrounded by the sounds and smells of a busy kitchen. Food was never just fuel in my family — it was how we celebrated, how we grieved, how we showed love. Every pot of Jollof rice, every bowl of Egusi soup carried a story.
When I moved to Doha 10 years ago, I quickly realised something was missing. The city had everything — except a place where Africans could sit down, eat properly, and feel at home. I watched friends and colleagues spend years craving the food they grew up with, making do with whatever they could find.
That’s when I knew what I had to do.
In 2025 I opened Koko’s Kitchen at Al Furjan Market — a place where every dish tells a story, every plate carries a piece of home, and everyone is welcome at the table. Whether you’re Nigerian, Kenyan, Ghanaian or simply curious about African cuisine, I cook every meal as if I’m feeding my own family.
